Celebrate Rhino Week at the Virginia Safari Park

Each year on September 22, World Rhino Day is celebrated worldwide to raise awareness about critical conservation efforts needed to protect these magnificent creatures. Here at the Virginia Safari Park, one day is not enough to dedicate to our Southern white rhinos so we celebrate all week long! From Sunday, September 17 through Sunday, September 24, the Virginia Safari Park will be celebrating World Rhino Week with special behind the scenes encounters to take your visit to the next level!

Get up-close with our Southern white rhinos with our Rhino Week Encounter package that includes special features offered only during Rhino Week! During your encounter, you will have the chance to feed and pet our rhinos in their field. Our Rhino Week encounters have the bonus chance to experience an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Rhino barn and get to meet and feed Leroy. These lucky guests will also be sent home with a painting made specially by our friendly rhinos.
